I offered comments during the Solutions Panel to open the first Hadley Climate Day, along with faculty from the UMass - Northeast Climate Adaptation Science Center. I also led a talk on the history of flooding in Hadley, the creation of the Oxbow in 1840, and the current status of the the dike built in the aftermath of the 1927 flood.
On June 4, 2021, I was invited to provide testimony to the Massachusetts Legislature Joint Committee on COVID-19 and Emergency Preparedness and Management Hearing on June 4, 2021 at an Informational Hearing on Hurricane and Natural Disaster Preparedness. The Joint Committee on COVID-19 and Emergency Preparedness and Management convened an informational hearing at the start of the 2021 hurricane season as a means to get a status update on the Commonwealth’s preparedness, to create awareness for the public and encourage household disaster readiness.
